Can you figure out this week's Secret Theme rounds?

Each group of 10 otherwise unrelated questions has a theme running through their answers. Can you answer the questions and figure out the theme? Answers will be posted in a few days. It so happens that this week's themes from the two bars are related, the two are the same general type of... without giving it away... noun.

Thanks to the miracle of Google Analytics, I can see fairly precisely from where and when people visit, what parts of the blog are being referenced and so forth. If you happen to be a quizmaster relying on my spent Secret Theme questions to fill out your games, the fact that I've posted a donation link to my PayPal account in the right-hand blog column now makes it easy for you to do the right thing and throw some of your income from those games my way. Sounds fair to me...
